Corporate fire brigade

The Pischelsdorf plant fire department consists of a dedicated team of 80 active members and is on standby 24/7. With state-of-the-art equipment, including small fire engines and water tenders as well as special vehicles with special equipment, it ensures safety in the entire Pischelsdorf Industrial Park and beyond.
Responsibilities and area of operation
In addition to its responsibility for the Pischelsdorf Industrial Park, the company fire department also serves as a central location for emergency vehicles in the Tulln district.

- Agrana Starch
- Donau Chem
- Donau Chemie
- Synthomer
- Timac Agro
- Pollutant base Tulln district
The fire department is also an essential part of the
Transport Accident Information Support System (TUIS).
Team size and shift operation
In order to ensure round-the-clock operational readiness, the team is spread across various companies within the industrial park:
- Agrana: 26 members, 4 group commanders, 3 members per shift
- Donau Chemie: 30 members, 4 group commanders, 2 members per shift
- Synthomer: 10 members, 1 group commander, 1 member per shift
- Timac: 10 members, 1 group commander, 1 member per shift
This structure ensures that at least 7 firefighters are always available per shift.
Training and qualification
All firefighters undergo thorough basic training as well as specialized training:
- Basic training: 24 hours
- Completion of “Truppmann”: 3 hours
- First aid course: 16 hours
- Breathing apparatus operator: 16 hours
- Intelligence service: 8 hours
- Basic leadership (BL): 16 hours
- Completion of BL: 3 hours
- Identifying danger: 8 hours
- Protective suit practical: 8 hours
- Final Test: Firefighting training: 20 hours
Total: 122 hours
Continuous further training and special training
The safety and operational capability of the company fire department is ensured by a comprehensive exercise and training program:
- Monthly drills and training: Fire & rescue trainings
- Annual drills at every plant: Every plant in the industrial park is included in the drills every year
- Courses at the Lower Austrian State Fire Brigade School in Tulln: focus on technology, tactics and leadership to ensure that the firefighters are always up to date with the latest firefighting techniques
- Special training: specializations such as GUBAS (hazardous goods and fire simulation system) and pollutant management
