More than just an apprenticeship

At the Donau Chemie Group, apprenticeships go beyond the daily routine. Our apprentices gain additional experience, develop personally, and exchange ideas across different locations.

Personality workshops

Apprentices in the Donau Chemie Group also receive professional support in their personal development. Within the framework of 2-day apprentice seminars on various topics, apprentices from all sites come together and can expand and consolidate their skills through playful exercises. The seminar days are rounded off with a joint activity and dinner. This gives the apprentices the opportunity to exchange ideas and get to know each other better across the plants.

Apprentice exchange

During their apprenticeship, apprentices can do specialized internships at the other plants and gain experience at the other operating sites (e.g. laboratories, workshops, etc.). As the technical and content-related working methods at the operating sites are sometimes very different, this gives apprentices the opportunity to immerse themselves in the day-to-day operations of the other sites and to exchange ideas and network with apprentices, employees and managers on site.

CHEMfluencer

As part of the "CHEMfluencer" initiative launched by the FCIO (Association of the Chemical Industry), our developers and laboratory staff visit local schools and provide insights into their daily work. Through experiments and personal experiences, they spark interest in chemistry and technology and inspire young people to pursue an apprenticeship in the chemical industry.

LEHRLINGSHACKATHON

The Austria-wide "Apprentice Hackathon" competition is an exciting opportunity for apprentices to demonstrate their skills in programming, problem-solving, and creative thinking. Teams from various apprenticeship trades develop innovative apps and solutions in a short timeframe, designed to create real added value for everyday work. All participants will also receive a DigComp certificate, which confirms their acquired digital skills according to a Europe-wide recognized reference framework.

APPRENTICE SHUTTLE

As part of our Apprentice Shuttle program, we welcome many interested students from surrounding schools to our locations. For two days at a time, these young people have the opportunity to gain practical insights into our work and learn more about the diverse career opportunities within the Donau Chemie Group.
